AUDIO PLATFORM TEST AND VALIDATION LEAD ENGINEER
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Audio Platform Test and Validation Lead Engineer to oversee the testing and validation of advanced audio platforms. This role demands a deep understanding of system architecture, audio technologies, and leadership to ensure quality and performance standards are met. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and quality assurance, to develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies aligned with industry standards and best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
System Architecture and Design Understanding:
- Develop a deep understanding of the overall system architecture and design of embedded audio processing platforms.
- Participate in internal design meetings to align testing plans with system requirements.
Test Plan Development and Execution:
- Create and manage comprehensive test plans, including BSP, ALSA audio device tests, serial ports, control API testing, and Audio Weaver integration.
- Oversee system-level testing, including booting, reinitializing, tuning, and performance validation.
- Prioritize testing areas based on impact and coverage, focusing on "most bang for the buck" opportunities.
Lab and Remote Testing Strategies:
- Optimize the use of Evaluation Kits (EVKs) and test labs.
- Develop remote testing strategies, enabling team members to log in and perform tests remotely.
Team Leadership and Resource Management:
- Assign tasks and areas of focus to team members, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
- Support team leads in creating test development plans, assigning tasks, and tracking resource loading.
Process and Standards Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to ASPICE requirements, including traceability from requirements to test coverage.
- Oversee the execution of unit tests, interface testing, static analysis (e.g., CPPCheck) and MISRA validation for all software.
- Standardize DSP Concepts test reports and ensure proper documentation of testing processes and procedures.
Collaboration and Reporting:
- Periodically report to stakeholders on progress, activities, and issues.
- Work closely with internal and external teams to implement new test plans and improve coverage.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to sign off on releases and ensure high-quality deliverables to partners and customers.
Automation and Tool Development:
- Oversee the development and maintenance of automated testing scripts and tools.
- Ensure tools are optimized for performance, coverage, and efficiency.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify gaps in coverage and areas for improvement in existing test strategies.
- Incorporate learnings from partners and industry best practices into testing processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Acoustics, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in audio systems testing, validation, and development, with leadership experience preferred.
- Experience in automotive audio, consumer electronics, or professional audio systems.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in audio processing, BSPs, ALSA, and Audio Weaver.
- Strong understanding of ASPICE processes and traceability requirements.
- Experience with audio performance testing tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with static analysis tools, MISRA validation, and industry compliance standards.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Travel:
- Will need to travel to the US for training and coordination
- May need to travel to mainland China for coordination and co-development
