Robust Double Talk is when multiple people on the call speak at the same time and are still able to clearly understand each other. Speaker distortions, system delays or challenging ambient noises can all impact double talk performance. TalkTogether provides superior double talk performance with clear voice quality even for challenging situations like gaming, where loudspeaker output includes high volume game sound effects and introduces continuous double talk.
Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) loudspeaker signals from the microphones allowing you to communicate without being tripped up by echoes. TalkTogether’s superior AEC supports mono, stereo, and even multi-channel playback applications. The highly optimized algorithm can handle long echo tails and track path changes.
Noise Suppression eliminates ambient noises such as keyboard clicks and the sound of crinkling wrappers while preserving speech quality. Together with Beamformers and Single Channel Noise Reduction (SCNR) that suppress stationary HVAC noises, TalkTogether’s Noise Suppression suppresses hard to remove non-stationary and transient noises such as keyboard clicks, game effects, etc. to deliver natural, noise-free communication in the Tx direction. This also includes optional blocks to enhance speech quality in specific environments:
Direction of Arrival (DoA) determines the direction of the desired voice signal and can be used to steer video cameras at the person speaking. The DoA works in conjunction with the beamformer to focus in on the desired speech while rejecting reverberation.
Tx and Rx Automatic Gain Control (AGC) allows rapidly changing speaker volumes to be dynamically adjusted to a consistent speech level thus normalizing loud and quiet talkers. TalkTogether Tx and Rx AGCs adapt to variations in speech levels, primarily in conferencing applications where the talkers can be loud or quiet, near or far from the device, using hangouts or Zoom for communications.
Loudspeaker Processing includes Equalizer (EQ), Dynamic Range Compression (DRC) together with an AGC to dynamically equalize the Rx signal spectrum and deliver clear, distortion-free speech in the Rx direction. TalkTogether Rx processing can be further extended with 500+ audio processing blocks available on Audio Weaver to enhance speech quality in receive direction.
Occupancy Detection turns the device On or Off automatically when the device recognizes an individual present in the room or vice versa. TalkTogether integrates occupancy detection using the existing speaker-microphone pair without the need for additional motion sensor components.
