Today we’re thrilled to share that DSP Concepts has raised a $14.5MM Series B round, led by Taiwania Capital, along with participation from Series A lead investor BMW i Ventures and new investors: MediaTek Ventures, Porsche Digital, Innovation Growth Ventures/Sony Innovation Fund and ARM IoT Fund.
This is much more than just a new round of funding for us: it’s an endorsement by some of the largest and most important companies defining the future of audio experiences. From automotive giants including Porsche and BMW, to the consumer electronics luminary Sony, to the semiconductor industry’s most respected leaders, ARM and MediaTek- our Series B is both a financial boost to our growth and a coalescing of established innovators around Audio Weaver.
“We have been continually impressed by DSP Concepts. The company has executed technology development, demonstrated product-market fit and has built an impressive list of customers that have validated the value of the technology. We are excited about the opportunity to help the company scale globally.”
DSP Concepts has had the privilege of closely working with the top players in consumer tech (i.e. GoPro, Bang & Olufsen, Bose, Braun, Logitech, Alexa Voice Services) and the automotive industry (from Porsche to Tesla and many others we can’t name). Even with such a diverse group of companies, they all face remarkably common issues:
DSP Concepts has focused maniacally on these challenges for the last nearly 20 years and will continue to empower audio engineers at any coding level to quickly create, collaborate, and deploy high-quality audio and voice-interactive experiences optimized for every connected device. As human-machine interaction increasingly relies on voice, Audio Weaver and TalkTo will play a critical role in expanding voice interaction out of the living room and into the real world.
This is truly an inflection point for DSP Concepts and its customers. We’re just as committed to helping our customers achieve their audio goals as we were on day 1; the only difference is we’ll be making even bigger investments in our existing and new products as we continue to build out Audio Weaver, the audio platform powering over 40 million of the world’s best devices.
To better support our customers, we’re aggressively growing our team internationally and domestically. We’ve added the APAC region to our global footprint with the opening of our Taiwan office. Taiwan has long been considered the next hub of tech transformation, and we can’t wait to partner with the biggest names in its consumer and automotive markets to deliver the experience their customers want. Along with the Taiwan office, we’ve also added boots on the ground in Detroit, Michigan and Japan.
None of this would be possible without the incredible list of investors that have contributed to our mission in defining what audio should be at a time when the tech revolution is at an all-time high. We are excited to have an incredible lead in Taiwania Capital, who will act as the catalyst in our ambitions to scale globally, as well as BMW i Ventures, who led our previous round and is a returning investor.
We’re particularly proud of the new support we’ve gained from investors from the consumer, developer, and automotive worlds — Sony Innovation Fund by Innovation Growth Ventures, MediaTek Ventures, Porsche Digital and ARM IoT Fund. It’s an honor to have earned the validation from those responsible for the constantly emerging technological capabilities that are changing the way we go about our daily lives.
